Hi

Time to bite the bullet and remove the primary chain case cover - don't adjust anything before and you'll get an idea of where the problem lies when you observe the clutch operation.

Maybe, but unlikely. It's only been run up a couple of dozen times and done only 10 miles so far. So we'll see. Hopefully I'll have time next week to have a look.

Once this is on the road properly it will be used regularly. To work and back as well the odd run out. At that point I'd probably like to put a factory air filter assembly on it. Now I'm certain that I came across some images of an m31 or g12 with one of these fitted a while ago but can't find any now. Have I imagined it or did the factory do an assembly for these. There is enough room behind the tool box for one.

It might help if your Profile gave the year of your bike.
Have a look at this one on a '61 M31 from the 'Photos' section - a Fiat filter and pipe from a breaker's yard. Not much detail unfortunately.

and another one here:

Unless anyone has a photo to post a browse through the Spares Lists might give you some ideas. It was an optional extra for the 1957 G9 and G11. Pages 13 and 14 in the link below might help guide you:

bob, Not sure if this link works, but if so, it shows my adaptation of the filter that came with the bike.

Cheers, Steve

Thank you. Worked fine. Tidy job. I'll get the trouble shooting out the way and get some miles on. That will be one of the jobs for the winter along with a good centre stand and a qd wheel.

Cheers. I'll keep that in mind. But it will have to wait for a while. It's got to start doing some mileage before I spend any more on it.
